A few sample questions
From the Polynomials worksheet. If p(x) = 2x² − 3x + 1, find p(2).
Answer: 3 — 2(4) − 3(2) + 1 = 8 − 6 + 1 = 3.
From the Number Systems worksheet. Express 0.3̄ (0.333…) as a fraction.
Answer: 1/3 — 9x = 3, so x = 1/3.
From the Linear Equations worksheet. The point (3, k) lies on 2x + 5y = 31. Find k.
Answer: 5 — 6 + 5k = 31, so k = 5.
