Integers now go beyond adding and subtracting into multiplying and dividing with signs; fractions become rational numbers; and algebra arrives properly — first as expressions, then as equations to solve. It is completely normal for a child who was fluent in Class 6 to slow down while these connected ideas settle. What helps most is not extra pressure, but short, regular practice on one chapter at a time, with answers to check against so mistakes get caught early.

From the Algebraic Expressions worksheet. A taxi charges a fixed ₹40 plus ₹12 for each kilometre, so the fare is 40 + 12k. What is the fare, in rupees, for a 9 km trip?
Answer: ₹148 — put k = 9: 40 + 12 × 9 = 148.
From the Simple Equations worksheet. A pen costs ₹x, and four pens cost ₹52. What is the cost of one pen?
Answer: ₹13 — 4x = 52, so x = 13.
A quick brain-teaser. A jar has red and blue marbles in the ratio 2 : 3. After adding 10 red marbles the ratio becomes 1 : 1. How many blue marbles are there?
Answer: 30 — let the parts be 2k red and 3k blue; 2k + 10 = 3k gives k = 10, so blue = 30.
