Decimals are where a lot of Class 6 children have their first wobble with “place value”. A number like 0.65 looks bigger than 0.7 to a child who is still reading the digits left to right — after all, 65 is more than 7 — so it helps to practise comparing, ordering and converting until the tenths-and-hundredths idea really settles.
